Défis

Founded in 2007 in Lanester by Joël Coché and Gilles Le Couster, the Défis association fights against the digital divide. This term appeared in the 1990s with the advent of the Internet and the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

It referred to the gap between those who had access to these new technologies and those who could not. If the impossibility of acquiring equipment was the first form of e-exclusion, a second problem emerged, the use of computer tools. Today, developing a "digital culture" that makes it possible to adapt to the evolution of these tools has become a major challenge in the inclusion of remote audiences

Actions at the service of users To deal with this, Défis has structured a network for the reuse of equipment in order to equip its members. They can buy a computer at a low cost or benefit from a free loan. To facilitate the appropriation of uses, the association has designed a diversified offer of support and training. Services to SSE structures The association also provides advice and expertise to professionals in the Social and Solidarity Economy in the region: technical services (acquisition of equipment, setting up a data server, creation of websites, etc.) and training services (office automation, social networks, etc.).
