DIN - Sustainable IT

The Digital Impact Network, founded in 1996, is committed to promoting information and communication technologies (ICT) in the Swiss capital region. Today, it is a leading network supporting the digital transformation of the economy, administration, and education. The association connects individuals and organizations, encourages the exchange of knowledge and technology, and supports educational programs focused on digitalization.

Through these actions, it actively contributes to the region’s digital success and creates added value for its members and the broader territory. The “Sustainable IT” working group places a strong emphasis on sustainability, promoting:

  • resource- and energy-efficient use of ICT hardware and software, using the latest technologies,
  • resource savings and CO2 emission reductions enabled by digital technologies,
  • the adoption of sustainable procurement, including the development of specific criteria.

Its vision is to make sustainability in IT understandable and visible, and to raise awareness of these issues among all stakeholders in the region.
