Launched in November 2022, the High Committee for Eco-Responsible Digital Technology (HCNE) is the steering body for ecological planning on the subject of responsible digital technology. It brings together all the stakeholders concerned (companies, professional federations, NGOs, representatives of local authorities and researchers) and is co-chaired by the Minister of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, the Minister of Energy Transition and the Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Telecommunications.
At the operational level, the "General Commission for Sustainable Development" (Commissariat général au développement durable - CGDD) and the "Directorate General for Enterprise" (Direction Générale des Entreprises - DGE) are responsible for co-piloting it. As part of ecological planning, the HCNE steers all the work carried out in the field of responsible digital technology, by involving the stakeholders concerned.
