The National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Automation (Inria) — or "National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology", according to its own website and a decree of September 20, 20212 — is a French public scientific and technological institution specializing in mathematics and computer science, created on January 3, 1967 as part of the "Calculation Plan" and placed under the dual supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, of Research and Innovation and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Inria's mission is to develop research and development in information and communication sciences and techniques, both nationally and internationally.
