Institut de Recherche en Droit et Technologie de Recife (IP.Rec)

The Institute for Research in Law and Technology of Recife is an independent center working in scientific research, advocacy, training and communication focused on the social, ethical and legal impacts of technological development.

Since 2017, the Institute has been working on the preparation of scientific studies, case analyses, campaigns, events and actions that contribute to the construction of knowledge and critical thinking about the functioning of digital networks. IP.rec is a non-profit civil association that is part of an Internet Governance and Technology ecosystem

It understands, then, that organized civil society is a primary agent for the promotion and maturation of political debate, which cannot be dissociated from the active use of the Internet. It acts under values that prioritize the multisectoral debate, considering, therefore, the influence of various actors – including academia, government and the business sector – for the technical and political development of the network.
