négaWatt (Association)

A non-profit association created in 2001, négaWatt is managed by a college of active members, the Compagnie des négawatts, which brings together about twenty experts involved in professional activities related to energy. 

All of them express themselves and are personally involved in the association. Its vision is based on the négaWatt approach, a common sense approach based on three pillars. It consists first of all in reducing needs through sobriety in individual and collective energy uses. Efficiency then reduces the amount of energy needed to meet these needs. 

Finally, priority can be given to renewable energies which, thanks to an ambitious but realistic development, can gradually replace fossil fuels and nuclear energy. On the basis of this approach, the association has developed an energy scenario for 2050 reflecting a possible evolution of our energy system. 

In the continuity of this foresight work, the association also ensures advocacy action with political and economic decision-makers, so that a real energy transition is implemented.
